The third grade class has 19 students.
We have 12 boys and 7 girls.

Students will be welcomed at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in a nurturing Christian community where educators, students, staff and parents will work together showing mutual respect for one another. As a community of learners, we will foster high expectations and excellence in teaching to create an environment in which all students will achieve to the best of their ability. The ultimate goal is to encourage life-long learning through Christ-centered education.

February 2012

This month the students will be working on a rain forest project.  The students read the story The Great Kapok Tree.  Now they will work in the computer lab to find out about one rain forest animal.  They will write a paper about it, draw one, and read their report to the class.

In Math we will be learning about measurement.  The students did very well in multiplication and division.  They had timed tests on their tables with charts to keep track of how many they have passed.

Religion class will start with Catholic Schools' Week and we are learning more about St. Louise de Marillac.  She is our saint for Mass on Tuesday Jan. 31 with a procession of the saints.  Each student in the school is bringing in a baby item for families who need help with their babies.

The students will learn how to write a letter in English class.  They will pick another student to write to and learn the 5 parts of a friendly letter.
