Class Desciption

There will be many interesting and exciting events for our 4th grade class this coming school year!

Our class is basically a self-contained 4th grade room.  The students will have their "special" classes in computer, physical education, and art.

Mission

Students will be welcomed at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in a nurturing Christian community where educators, students, staff and parents will work together showing mutual respect for one another. As a community of learners, we will foster high expectations and excellence in teaching to create an environment in which all students will achieve to the best of their ability. The ultimate goal is to encourage life-long learning through Christ-centered education.

This Month

As February begins, we look forward to another busy and interesting month for the 4th Graders!  We are still celebrating Catholic School's Week, and we will conclude it with our IHM Talent Show on Friday evening, February 3rd.

We will also have the Bishop Dubourg swing dancers and the Vianney High School theater group come to IHM to entertain the younger students.

There will be an all school liturgy on February 22nd to help us begin the season of Lent.

In class, the students will be reading a book with a theme that centers on Black History Month.  There will be 3 different options for them to make their reports.

In Science, we continue to learn about ecology and the environment through the classes that are taught by the St. Mary's students.  We are also looking forward to our Spring Eco-Act field trip.

In Social Studies, we have divided into 2 groups.  Each group is preparing a play to present to the parents and to some of the other classes.  The 2 plays have Social Studies themes.
